Escape to Exmoor
At Woodlands Holidays we offer two sensational, well-equipped holiday cottages in Dulverton, Gateway to Exmoor.
Woodleigh Cottage (sleeps 4) and Woodlands House (sleeps 6-8) are both full of character, beams, comfortable beds and their own private gardens. They are also very dog-friendly! Just a few minutes walk from Dulverton’s own award- winning restaurants, like Woods, and shops like Browns, Brimblecombe, or for country sports enthusiasts, Lance Nicholson, they offer a perfect base from which to explore the area, but with all amenities on your doorstep.
June, July, August are some of the best months to enjoy Exmoor’s beautiful scenery - its rugged moorland populated by Exmoor ponies, sheep and highland cattle; its wooded valleys and rivers - great for walks - and outstanding coastlines.
As for events in Dulverton, there’s the Dulverton Artisan Food, Drink & Crafts Festival on 8 July 2023 and the Summer Dulverton Farmers Market on 24 June; 29 July; 26 August and 30 September.
Getting to Woodlands Holidays - Dulverton
Most of our guests arrive by car. There’s ample parking at both properties and, for EV owners, there are two fast InstaVolt charging stations in the town’s car parks. Just don’t forget to pay for the parking too whilst recharging (don’t ask!).
If you don’t have a car, then you can get to Woodlands Holidays easily from Tiverton Parkway Station, on the GWR and Cross Country networks to the South West. Fast trains from London Paddington take 2 hours - so you could skip the traffic, the cost of petrol or diesel and be at either of our properties in 3 hours from London. If you’re keen cyclists you can book your bikes onto the trains too.
We can help with arrangements and organise a taxi for you from the station, welcoming you to your holiday home with a classic cream tea!
Once settled into our picturesque, character filled properties, you can borrow a local guidebook, pull your walking shoes on and head out for a few hours of fresh air and amazing scenery. Or borrow racquets and play tennis at the town’s club - £10 a session on all weather, floodlit courts, or maybe….just maybe, pour yourself a drink, slide into a recliner and relax by our swimming pool!
