Autumn Breaks on Exmoor

Looking for a late Autumn break this year? Renting a house or cottage on Exmoor could provide the answer. There's nowhere like Exmoor in Autumn when the landscape is transformed by a turn of the season. Shorter days, chillier nights and a beautiful old house to return to for tea around the fire, or a hearty dinner to restore oneself, after a bracing walk on the moor or along the Barle valley.

A prolonged sunny dry spell has allowed our guests to get out and enjoy the moorland and valleys, as the leaves turn yellow, gold and scarlet and the bracken a rich deep brown. Woodlands (pictured) is looking at its best in the late, low sunshine of an Autumn afternoon and the new oak porch across the back glowing as the last light begins to fade.

Since restrictions were lifted in April, guests have enjoy Woodlands (which sleeps 8 people) or Woodleigh Cottage next door (which sleeps 4 people), to finally catch up with friends and family they have been unable to see during Covid-19 crisis. Others have taken a well earned holiday in one of the UK's most unspoilt, but accessible National Parks. With plenty of space to stretch out, to relax and unwind, with quiet, private and scenic gardens, both houses have provided an ideal location for a UK 'staycation'.
