Book your Woodlands Holiday for free membership of Exmoor Society
Updated: Jun 11

Exmoor has a unique landscape of beautiful rugged moorland, steep wooded coombes, dramatic coastlines and fast-flowing rivers, shaped over thousands of years. However as the area has became more accessible, more popular as a holiday destination and as demand for farmland has intensified, that landscape needs to be protected. The Exmoor Society, an independent charity, has worked to maintain the balance between the needs of local businesses in farming and tourism and the need to conserve that landscape for future generations. If, like us, you care about Exmoor - its landscape, its wildlife, as well as its way of life, we want to help you.
During 2022, Woodlands Holidays is offering a free, one-year membership to The Exmoor Society to guests who book three nights or more at Woodleigh Cottage or Woodlands House. (Terms & Conditions apply, see below).

The Exmoor Society
The Exmoor Society is the only membership organisation dedicated to protecting and promoting Exmoor for the benefit of all. It oversees and lobbies on issues to protect its landscape, wildlife, heritage, access and tranquillity.
The Society supports communities and traditional hill farming, sustainable tourism and businesses that can create employment opportunities, especially for young people and it is engaged with issues such as education and affordable housing.
During the year, The Exmoor Society runs a programme of events and activities. One of its most popular is its walks programme, encouraging visitors and local people to enjoy Exmoor’s landscape and history to develop a better understanding of how it can be protected for future generations.
